Today marks the day this time 35 years ago when Disney released its 27th animated feature called Oliver & Company. While Disney hasn't acknowledged it as much as the other Disney films like The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast or even The Lion King, it still has a cult following and is considered to be a Disney fan-favorite. When the film was released the same day as The Land Before Time from Universal, it almost felt like a fierce competition to see which film is better. While Oliver managed to come through with 53 million dollars in the domestic box office, Littlefoot on the other hand counteracted with 84.5 million dollars internationally and with more positive reviews. Hell, the young longneck (apatosaurus) got two thumbs up from Siskel and Ebert while the kitten got a thumbs down from Siskel and a marginal thumbs up from Ebert. Despite the minor setback though, Oliver & Company still became a hit with the song "Why Should I Worry" getting a Golden Globes nomination for Best
